Christmas Sunshine

Kia ora! The Mukais are having a fabulous summer holiday in NZ. Thought I'd post some pics and write a few words so you can enjoy some summer fun vicariously.

The trip down was very smooth. Ezra was a star on the plane. He slept through take off, was awake for dinner, then slept for 6 hours in the bassinet. Meanwhile, Matt and I each watched 3 movies (M: Guardians of the Galaxy, Maze Runner & Deadlands; S: Guardians, Deadlands & How to Train Your Dragon II) and managed to have a bit of a sleep.

The first days on the farm were wonderful and warm, days alternating hot and sunny (30+ degrees) with overcast and cooler (20-25 degrees). No complaints!

Christmas was a full day of fun. Ezra enjoyed unwrapping and eating the paper. Christmas lunch was a waistband testing meal of roast lamb, turkey and ham, followed by 6 different desert choices (pavlova for the win!). A hit of badminton helped to make room for the BBQ lamb chops and sausages for dinner with the whole extended family. So good to catch up and see everybody. Lots of beers and good yarns. The little kids growing up is an excellent measure of time passing. They change so quickly.

Ezra has changed already, he's had a massive growth spurt! It's taken a bit of adjusting with some tough nights with little sleep, but we're hoping he'll settle back into a good routine soon. He's is his usual cheerful smiling self the rest of the time. Loving all the attention from family.

Here are a few pics of what we've been up to.

Ready to hop on the plane for 13 hours.
